Best places to go longboarding

Image
To skate and do tricks you can always go to the local skate park, but if you want to get the ultimate longboarding experience, the true sense of freedom and especially if you enjoy traveling, you should totally consider ones below. in my opinion a place that every longboarder should visit is Malaga in Spain. Firstly because it’s hot, up to 11 hours of sunshine a day in summer. Spain also boasts large areas of open concrete particularly along the sea front with spectacular view. and there’s plenty of potential for down hill longboarding around the town. Second in my list is Malmo, Sweden. Even though it rains for an average of 169 days a year and snows in winter. Malmo's long summer days with up to 17 hours of daylight and plenty of smooth pavements mean it’s an amazing place to roll around in the summer. It is a centre for Swedish skateboard culture too. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is the must go of any skateboarder. It is rightly famous for its beaches and promenades, all

Carving

Image
Carving is an essential technique to upgrade your longboard dancing style and is used with almost every trick. Carving is a move of board from left to right. This move makes any tricks look more smooth and stylish. To start carving you simply have to move your body weight from one side of the board to another. While you are doing that the board should move freely and it should feel like you are surfing. If you find it hard to carve you may want to loosen the screws on the wheels so the board makes bigger turns. This parameter is up to personal preference but generally the looser it is, the easier it is to carve. Every skateboarder needs to find a balance between loosening your board so you can carve and do tricks at the same time.

Learning to do basic tricks

Today I'm going to explain how to perform the easiest in my opinion trick. The first trick I have ever done is called the pivot. This is a common first tricks for longboard beginners because it is very basic and you can learn it very fast. This is a basic 180 degree turn. to perform a pivot you will need to shift your weight onto the front kicktail, the back of the board will go up. While this is happening you want to twist the board with the non dominant foot and when the board makes a 90% turn, you want to shift the weight onto it and land it with your bad leg riding forward. The first typical mistake is not giving through your legs when performing the trick. Main push power comes from bending your legs slightly. A full tutorial below. Learning how to skate

Image
Learning how to skate on any board starts with identifying if you are a right foot rider or a left foot rider. Simply close your eyes and lean forward, whatever foot comes forward to prevent you from falling is your dominant foot, this is the foot you keep on the board and push with the other one. Skating is a very basic move but its hard to perfect so if you want to learn to be a good skater there is no other way than practice. Once you are comfortable with just crusing around you can start to learn more complex things such as breaking or eve basic tricks. Long boards are generally easier to learn how to skate because they tend to be more stable and there is more room to put your legs on the board. Hope I helped you to start learning how to start skating. Choosing a skateboard

Image
Choosing a skateboard The first step to buying your first board is to decide what purpose you will use it for. If you are into doing tricks you should look for the normal skate deck. If you want to skate to school or long trips in the city you should check out the longboard or old school skateboard deck. The difference between them 2 is often in the shape of the board, old school decks tend to be non symmetrical and with no kicktails with a wider nose. Old school boards are an awesome choice for skating in a skate park, on ramps or carving down the streets. Some longboards are specifically designed for downhill. Downhill longboards tend to have a symmetrical shape, sit lower to the ground, and have wheel cut outs on the board, which allow larger wheels to be used for more speed. If you find a longboard hard to carry around due to size and length you may want to have a look at the cruiser or a shortboard . Shortboards are the shortest style board and are designed and shaped for
